The Best Small Business Grants In Australia

Image
Hey All, I had been running around to get a business loan for my small business in Australia. It was annoying to face rejections because I did not have a good credit history. I knew my idea was incredible and needed funds to succeed. So, I got to know about the grants and programs offered by the government. They not only help with mentorship and advice but also provide funding to eligible businesses with the potential to expand. You have to indentify the grant that can help your business and get it to accomplish your targets. Here is an article that will help you understand this well. https://www.business2sell.com.au/blogs/evaluation/the-best-small-business-grants-in-australia

How foodtech could create a healthier, more sustainable planet

Image
When I was growing up, my mother would say ‘let food be your medicine.’ The problem was, the entire food system seemed designed to achieve the opposite. In the recently released, Our Future World report, the CSIRO identified food insecurity brought on by climate change as a mega-trend that will affect the globe over the next 30 years. This has been exacerbated by the war in Ukraine which is already having a devastating impact on food supply chains in countries already struggling with food insecurity. Unfortunately, we already see this mega-trend playing out across supermarket aisles across Australia and it is having a domino effect on the state of our nutrition with the rising cost of living forcing households to choose cheaper, less healthy and more processed food to feed families. Australian law firm launches its own ‘dieselgate’ class action on behalf of Mercedes-Benz owners

Image
A successful $1 billion lawsuit in the US against German car giant Mercedes-Benz last year has prompted an Australian law firm to launch a class action against the company seeking ‘hundreds of millions of dollars’ for allegedly misleading owners about emissions from certain diesel models. Compensation law firm Gerard Malouf and Partners (GMP Law) says it has filed a class action against Mercedes-Benz in the Victorian Supreme Court after enlisting assistance from the legal eagles who took Mercedes-Benz to court in the US. The claim alleges that between 2008 and 2018, Mercedes installed ‘cheat devices’ to manipulate the reading of diesel gas emissions in order to pass regulatory testing. Brickworks profit triples but kiln costs running hot on gas crunch

Image
Despite building material manufacturer Brickworks (ASX: BKW) announcing a record underlying profit of $746 million for FY22, the company flagged it will face softer demand in the second half as rising interest rates impact the housing industry. The group’s revenue grew to $1.09 billion year-on-year, reflecting an increase of 28 per cent. This was primarily driven by an uplift in the company’s North American brickmaker division, where revenue almost doubled to $399 million. Meanwhile, the Building Products Australia segment recorded $694 million in revenue and an underlying EBITDA of $205 million – which includes an $89 million profit associated with the sale of properties into the Brickworks Manufacturing Trust.
